I look up

As I look up at the sky
the dark dark sky

I sigh

No stars up high
I sigh and sigh

Where will I find those glittering
and gleaming

and twinkling stars

That I wish I could reach

And touch…

I wait and wait

As patiently as I can…

Is it a test or punishment?

I know not…
But I wait…

And then the wait is over

I know what it is worth...

The star that I had longed for

All these years or so…

Is playing peek a boo

With my tiny little soul

I sigh again…

For I know I can’t reach it

Anymore

Will the star finally give in

Or should I wait some more….
